The Calm

Timelapse of the Day – February 1, 2013

This is a timelapse that you’ll want to watch all the way through.  (Hey, what timelapse don’t you want to watch all the way through, right?)  What I mean is, it starts off looking like a lot of other timelapse work, but evolves into something quite special.  When filmmakers Ben Edwards and Gordon Macintosh finally turn the camera from the crowd and onto… oh just watch the great timelapse!  Then check out Ben’s site at theheartburn.co.uk and Gordon’s site at pearlofage.com.

Ben writes:

This is a short film about ‘The Calm’… the calm before you drop in. (Submission for Nokia x Burton)

Myself and filming partner have been snowboarding for years and after talking to friends who are also riders, we wanted to create a film that captured the more spiritual side of snowboarding. The build up, the anticipation, the solitude, the silence and finally the calm, the calm just before you drop into your run, whether it be on a piste or on top of the world.

Track – If All Else Fails
